Nguyen Quang Minh graduated from the Vietnam Fine Arts University in Hanoi in 1994. He grew up in the 70’s in northern Vietnam and like many fellow artists his childhood was spent in the countryside from which he draws his inspiration. Known for his delicate treatment of his subjects with contemporary styling, the figures seem to float endlessly in an infinite space. He continues to live and work in Hanoi.
The notable art critic, Phan Cam Thuong says of Minh: “Strictly speaking, his is not a style of painting, nor is it inspired by truly innocent ideas, rather it is a metaphor used by the artist to express his outlook on life in a candid, unsophisticated way”.
