The Artist

1945 Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam

La Hon graduated in 1963 from the Gia Dinh School of Art décor in Saigon. He has participated in many exhibitions in Vietnam and in 1997 he won the second prize at the H&S Foundation exhibition in HCMC. He is a member of the HCMC Fine Arts Association and is active promoting the arts of Vietnam. His work has been exhibited internationally in Bangkok, Singapore and Tokyo and he continues to work and exhibit today.

Woman, Monkey 1997 is from La Hon’s prize winning series that was shown in the 1997 H&S Exhibition, a foundation from Belgium and has the familiar oblique geometry and soft brooding light of desolation as other works from this series.
