Lê Thừa Tiến
Nghệ Sỹ
Lê Thừa Tiến có những phương pháp thể hiện nghệ thuật rất đa dạng, bao gồm tranh, sắp đặt, thử nghiệm với điêu khắc và các dự án nghệ thuật cộng đồng. Hướng đi trong tranh của Tiến chuyển từ tượng hình sang trừu tượng khi anh theo học tại Rijks Academy ở Amsterdam năm 1995. Các tác phẩm gần đây của anh, đa phương tiện và sơn mài, mang tính biểu tượng cao và sử dụng chất liệu truyền thống Việt Nam theo một cách mới và cải tiến hơn. Anh là một trong số ít những nghệ sĩ đương đại ở Việt Nam nói đến chủ đề chiến tranh với Hoa Kỳ trong các tác phẩm. Các tác phẩm của anh mang tính ý niệm nhiều hơn so với các nghệ sĩ Việt Nam cùng thế hệ.
Anh cũng luôn thử nghiệm các chất liệu và phương thức thể hiện mới. Các tác phẩm của anh được trưng bày ở Hoa Kỳ, Thái Lan, Hà Lan, Pháp, Đức, Venezuela, Nhật Bản và Úc. Tiến cũng tham gia nhiều chương trình trại sáng tác quốc tế để khám phá nhiều phương thức thể hiện khác nhau. Sau một số năm giảng dạy tại Trường Mĩ Thuật Việt Nam ở Huế, hiện nay Tiến dành hoàn toàn thời gian cho công việc sáng tác nghệ thuật.
